Examinations

      Board examinations in all subjects of all the semesters under the scheme of examinations will be conducted at the end of each semester.


      The sessional marks for all the subjects will be awarded on the basis of continuous internal assessment earned during the semester concerned. For each subject 25 marks are allotted for sessional marks and 75 marks allotted for board examinations

General Rules:

  • A student can go to the second year only if she has studied and written the first year examinations.
  • Even if a student fails in the examination she can continue her studies upto the third year provided she has got the required attendance.
  • For admission to the board examination a student should have satisfactorily completed the prescribed course of study and should have put in not less then 80% of the attendance of the total number of working hours during the semester /year.
  • For a pass in the board examinations students must secure a minimum of 40% in the theory papers and 50% in practical.
  • Twenty five marks are allotted for record work in the practical subjects.

First class with honours

A candidate will be declared to have passed in first class with honours if he/she secures not less than 75% of the aggregate marks in all semesters put together, except first and second semester and passes all the above semesters in the first appearance itself and completes all papers including that of first year within the stipulated period of study 3/3 1/2/4 years without any break.

First class

A candidate will be declared to have passed in first class with if he/she secures not less than 60% of the aggregate marks in all semesters put together, except first and second Semster and completes all papers including that of first year with in the stipulated period of study of 3/3 1/2/4 without any break.

Second class

All others successful candidates will be declared to have passed in second class.

Issue of mark sheets / duplicate mark sheets / course completion certificate

With held mark sheets:

The candidates who have to obtain their mark sheets, with- held by the DTE will have to apply in the prescribed form with the photocopies of the previous mark sheets duly attested by the principal.

Transfer certificates:

Transfer certificates will be issued to the students when they are leaving the institution.

If students lose their transfer certificate, duplicate TC will be issued on payment of Rs. 15/-

If students lose their duplicate TC another duplicate TC will not be issued.

Issuing xerox copies of valued answer books:

  • To issue the Xerox copies of answer books when applied on payment of Rs. 100/- (Rupees one Hundred only) per paper through Demand Draft in favour of additional Director of Technical education (Exam) Payable at cheenai.
  • The last date for applying for Xerox copies will be within 15 days from the date of receipt of the consolidated mark sheet at the institution.
  • All applications for Xerox copies of answer scripts should be submitted to additional director of technical of Technical Education (Exam.) through the principle of the respective institution. Course completed candidate can apply directly to the ADTE(E).
  • The required original answer books will be sent form the respective valuation centers to the directorate of technical education office in sealed cover through special messengers.
  • The Xerox copies of answer scripts will be sent by the directorate of technical education office to the candidates directly by registered post with acknowledgement due.

Procedure to followed for revaluation:

  • On receipt of Xerox copy of the answer script, the candidates who are desirous of having regulation can apply for revaluation within 15days from the date of dispatch of the Xerox copy of the answer book from the direction for revaluation should be accompanied by a demand draft for Rs.400/- (Rupees four hundred only) per paper. The demand draft should be drawn in favor of the additional director of technical education (Exams’)
  • Centralized revaluation will be done in local centers on the same day for all papers.
  • If there is any difference in the mark secured, a revised mark sheet will be issued to the candidate after he/she surrender the secures a lesser marks in the revaluation to the student. Original mark sheet already issued. If a students will be given the advantages of retaining his original marks already awarded.
  • Revaluation will be done only once and no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
  • Failed candidates who have applied for revaluation should remit the examination fees for the subsequent examination without waiting for the result of revaluation or any letter from the directorate of technical education within the prescribed time limit.

Note : Fees for provisional and diploma certificates have to be paid along with VI semester examination fees.
